Coffee, Cakes and Pastries

People come together in a coffee house. To laugh heartily, to talk animatedly and, above all else, to enjoy a freshly roasted coffee or two. Whether it's a hearty pastry from the baker around the corner or a delicate temptation from the master confectioner, indulgence is a top priority in southern Styria.

In the south of Styria, coffee house culture is lived and celebrated to the fullest. Sitting in the garden in summer, catching up on the latest news, enjoying the wonderful weather and watching the hustle and bustle in front of you. This includes a Verlängerter (Americano), or rather the Melange (frothy, milky coffee), with a fresh pastry of choice, all homemade and simply delicious. A glass of water is as much a part of the coffee as sugar and milk; the people of southern Styria attach a great deal of importance to this. Take a daily newspaper and a gossip magazine as well; that's how the day can begin.
