On October 12, the Graz Region opens its doors with the "Steirische Roas" at 9:30 AM at the market square in Ligist. Guests will be transported into the refreshingly colorful world of Styrian folk culture – a festival for all the senses.
The morning begins with a word service in the parish church of Ligist, followed by the ceremonial opening at the market square at 10:30 AM. Starting at 11 AM, the ORF Steiermark Frühschoppen creates a cozy atmosphere, while at 12 PM a literary hike offers insights into Styrian dialect poetry.
Throughout the day, folk performances, regional culinary delights, and artisanal crafts take center stage. Musicians and singers play traditional pieces, folk dancers showcase captivating dances, dialect poets read their works, and representatives in traditional costumes proudly present the diversity of Styrian clothing.
