My name is Toni Scherer, and I am a certified sports climbing instructor, climbing teacher, as well as an industrial climber and a member of the Styrian Association of Sports Guides. Climbing and rope techniques have accompanied me since childhood and have always fascinated me. I got my first experiences with my father, an enthusiastic caver. But soon I was drawn more to heights than depths. Since 2003, I have been active in the climbing sport, contributed as a route developer at the climbing garden Sauwand and in the bouldering area Salzaklamm, and completed several alpine first ascents in the Hochschwab mountains. I want to share this passion and my knowledge with you now! Technique is everything for me. Climbing and safety techniques not only provide you with safety but also joy in the sport.

Sport Climbing
Indoor climbing is familiar to many, but how does climbing on rock work? As an enthusiastic rock climber, I will show you, with a lot of fun and the necessary safety, what is important in climbing. You will learn all about climbing techniques, belaying techniques, knots, orientation, recognizing hazards, as well as the right equipment and its application.
Bouldering
Bouldering is an exciting part of the climbing sport! Whether you are new to bouldering or want to refine your technique - my courses are suitable for all experience levels. If you already have experience in indoor bouldering, I will show you how to transfer what you've learned to natural rock and what the differences are in technique & tactics. Safety is the top priority: You will learn how to fall correctly, how to spot, and how to recognize hazards.
Tree Climbing
I gained my first climbing experiences in trees, and I want to share this wonderful nature experience with you. Safely and accompanied by me, you will climb selected trees, enjoy the view, the fresh air, and the tranquility of the forest.
Rappelling
Have you not had any contact with climbing yet but want to experience the thrill of heights and adrenaline, or perhaps even overcome fears? Rappelling is an exciting experience! Together with me, you can rappel from various heights - starting from about 5 m to impressive 45 m.
I offer my courses primarily in Mariazell, especially in the climbing gardens Sauwand and Salzaklamm. However, courses in climbing halls, e.g. in Vienna, are also possible upon request.
